He has chosen stories that illustrate the point of his lessons. Like most storytellers, he has added tales here and there that are only life experiences that are unique to him. 25 years ago his son Stephen asked that he write about his turkey hunting experiences. Sonny decided to take a class on creative writing and got side tracked, publishing a successful novel. The experience greatly enhanced his ability to capture the reader’s attention. Originally “Blind Reading” was going to be all about turkey hunting, his favorite game, but he soon realized it needed to encompass the entire outdoors. His stories range in time from his childhood in early Miami to his retirement in the Georgia Mountains and in distance, from the Florida Keys to Northern Greenland.

I really enjoyed the book. Makes you feel like you are right there with Mr. Boyer. The book shares serious information about Insects that can hurt you. He had a great out look on life.
This is Fabulous. I've hunted, fished, boated and thought I'd done it all - outdoors. Have to admit tho, I got lost a lot and never could figure out a compass til I read this book. I belong to the Georgia Mountain Writers' Club and am proud to consider Sonny and his lovely wife, my friends.
